The West Virginia Foundation for Rape Information and Services (WVFRIS) is West Virginia's state sexual assault coalition. WVFRIS was established in 1982 and is comprised of the State's rape crisis centers. WVFRIS works with the rape crisis centers and other allied professionals to develop and strengthen intervention and prevention programs in the State that address sexual violence and stalking. Note that WVFRIS also addresses the issues of human trafficking and dating violence because they often involve sexual violence and stalking. WVFRIS encourages and supports related State and local efforts to respond to and eliminate these forms of violence in partnership with other allied organizations.

The Office of the WV Secretary of State is partnering with WV businesses to combat human trafficking. By partnering with state government in the "Businesses Against Trafficking" campaign, your business plays a crucial role in addressing the problem by prioritizing these three components:
1. Information for victims on how to seek help;
2. Information for businesses on how they can assist in the effort; and
3. Information for the public on recognizing signs of trafficking and reporting suspicious activity.

Named after the North Star, an historical symbol of freedom, Polaris is leading a survivor-centered, justice- and equity-driven movement to end human trafficking. Since 2007, Polaris has operated the U.S. National Human Trafficking Hotline, connecting victims and survivors to support and services, and helping communities hold traffickers accountable. Through that work, Polaris has built the largest known dataset on human trafficking in North America. The data and expertise gained from two decades of working on trafficking situations in real time informs strategies that hold traffickers accountable, support survivors on their healing journeys and address the vulnerabilities that enable the business of stealing freedom for profit.
